8月24日（火曜日）第4回広島会・ばってん会合同納涼会が開催されました。

平日にも関わらず、50名程の皆様が集まり会場は懐かしい方言と、新しい出会いに溢れ、とても楽しく、刺激的な時間になりました。

まずは両会長のご挨拶と乾杯の音頭。

8月の会は「平和」の祈りも込められているため中垣住職、アメリカで「戦争・原爆・平和」に関わっていらっしゃる方ののご紹介もありました。

ちなみに広島会の古本会長と、ばってん会の山口会長はファーストネームが「タク」と同じ事や

おおらかで温かい雰囲気も合うようで、今回の開催もお2人の話しあいで日程・場所などが即決定。

事務局は会員の皆様のご参加と共に、この両会長の笑顔とサポートで動いております。

そしてどんな時も感謝の言葉を絶対に忘れない。人間としても学ぶところの多い両会長です。

お次はばってん会の大泉さんと有村さんによる三味線、小唄のパフォーマンス。

粋なお着物姿のプロの演奏は、夏の終わりのパーティーに素敵な華を添えて下さいました。有難うござました！

お料理、歓談を楽しんだ後は今回初参加の方の自己紹介。お一人での初参加の方もいらっしゃいましたが

皆様楽しんで頂けたようで良かったです。

年齢・性別・職種・人種・すべての垣根を飛び越えて、仲良くなる事が出来るのが県人会の良さですね♪

そして一番盛り上がった「じゃんけん大会」。

両会長や事務局、そして参加者の方によるご寄付により素晴らしい景品が集まりました。（お酒類・ジュエリー・書籍・長崎市長からのプレゼント・ヤンキースグッズ等）

まずは隣の方とじゃんけんをして頂き、両会長、事務局のメンバー、または商品をご提供して下さった方とのじゃんけん決戦！

シンプルなのですが、なぜか盛り上がります。（ちなみに広島県民の特性に「負けず嫌い」があるそうですよ）

ばってん会の皆様も、とてもユニークで、広島会のイベントの時とはまた違う盛り上がりがあり、とても楽しい「じゃんけん大会」でした。

他にも2回目参加の方に自己紹介をして頂いたり、皆で「ふるさと」を歌ったり。

最後の記念撮影の後も皆様話し足りないようで、何人かの方は２次会に繰り出していらっしゃいました。

毎回事務局は、「あーでもない」「こーでもない」と話しあい

最後の皆様の笑顔を見て、とても幸せな気分になります。

ご参加して頂いた皆様、両会長本当に本当に有難うございました。

次回皆様にお会い出来るのを楽しみにしております。

“People were killed in my place. I do not have the right to find happiness.” In the summer of 1948, Mitsue finds it impossible to allow herself to fall in love. One day, she receives the visit of her father’s ghost who tries to convince her to start her new life.
Hisahi Inoue is a renowned playwright and novelist whose recent work will be presented at 2010 Lincoln Center Summer Festival. The Face of Jizo, written in 1994 was one of the biggest hits in Japanese theater and has toured and been produced in France and Canada and worldwide. It has became an inspiration to people to deepen their understanding of the meaning of Hiroshima. After his battle with cancer, he passed away in April of 2010.

Hibakusha STORIES

A month long educational Program to hear eyewitness Accounts of one of the most significant events in human history.

Who are the Hibakusha? Incredibly, there are still some people alive today who survived the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945. In Japanese, the atomic bomb survivors are called Hibakusha (hee, ba, coo, sha). They tell their stories in order to help people understand the true reality

of nuclear war.

In a letter of support for Hibakusha Stories Yoko Ono Lennon stated that

“More than offering stories of darkness and suffering, you offer hope for a nuclear free future, a future of peace.  Your visit and work with students is an act of great love, a love born in pain, but strengthened through force of will and commitment to life.  I thank you for your steady work for peace.”

HIBAKUSHA STORIES is an initiative that began in October of 2008 when Youth Arts New York was approached by the Peace Boat Hibakusha Project to bring survivors to New York City school children to tell their stories. We will again be sponsoring visits to 25 New York City public schools during the first three weeks in May. Visits will provide students with a rare opportunity to hear eyewitness testimonies of one of the most significant events in human history, and will introduce the students to the concepts of peace, forgiveness and reconciliation. Students will learn to see that nuclear war is not only a war against the present but also, because of the genetic effects of radioactive contamination, a war against future generations. In addition, Japan Society hosts a panel discussion with a select group of survivors for NYC schools, which will also be broadcast live on the web on May 21. There will be an opportunity for students nationwide to e-mail questions for the survivors ahead of time and live during the event via www.japansociety.org/hibakusha  

Dr. Elisabeth Iler, co-director of the City University of New York’s Gateway Institute for Pre-College Education said, “Hibakusha Stories provided one of the most moving and impressive activities I have seen in our Gateway schools, ever… The students were rapt in their attention to the visitors’ testimony and asked superb, probing and thoughtful questions. The visitors were visibly moved by the experience as well … I will never forget the experience. I think it really did change lives, which is what education should be about!”

皆様春の訪れが嬉しく感じる今日この頃。いかがお過ごしでしょうか。
 
来る5月3日より、国連にて5年に1度本会が開かれるNPT（核不拡散条約再検討）会議が約1ヶ月間開かれます。
高齢化する被爆者たちも今や７０代、８０代となり、彼らが参加できる最後の会議になるということで、日本からも多くの被爆者がNY訪問する予定です。
 
この会議の重要な鍵は広島秋葉市長が会長を務めるMayors for Peace(平和市長会議)が提唱している「ヒロシマナガサキ議定書」
2020年までに核兵器のない世界を目指す-という人類にとっても大きな問題に対して、採決がなされるか注目を浴びています。
 
議定書と聞いても難しそうで理解をしてもらえないのではないか、という声に応えて広島ではYES!キャンペーンが立ち上がりました。
ピカドンプロジェクトの創始者でもあるイラストレーター黒田征太郎氏のイラストに子供にも理解できる言葉で議定書を絵本にしたのです。
この議定書を持って被爆者が日本全国をキャラバンで回り、日本がこの議定書の提案国となるように市町村から議定書の署名を集め、この３月末に目標だった１０００署名を達成しました！
 
 YES!キャンペーンでは、英語の話せない被爆者たち、特に小グループや個人で参加する方々へのサポートとして
国連会議決議情報の日本語訳提供、通訳派遣、その他NY情報などを提供するインフォメーションセンター設置を目的にニューヨーク入りします。

ギリギリのお知らせだったにも関わらず、４０名近くの方にご参加頂きました。

楽しい時間を皆様で創造出来た事、事務局メンバーはほっと胸をなでおろすと共にとても嬉しい思いでいっぱいです。

今回のお料理は週末に「そば日本」で提供されている「和食ブッフェ」の内容を広島会のためにご用意頂きました。

毎回開催場所と会費には事務局も苦労しており、こんかい「ちょっとお高め」の会費に少し不安もあったのですが・・

皆様お料理も楽しんで頂けたようでうし、何より事務局はゆっくり食べられないだろうから・・とお料理を運んで下さったマネージャーやスタッフの方々の気配りがとても嬉しかったです。

会は毎回ご夫婦で参加して下さる古本会長の心温まるご挨拶より開始。

いつも会を見守って、サポートして下さる笑顔の素敵な会長です。今回は初参加の方も多かったのですが

会長が持つ「柔らかオーラ」が基本の！？広島会なので、初参加は緊張しますが、最後は笑顔で帰って頂けたのではないかなと思います。

初参加の方の自己紹介も楽しかったですね。

（今回は残念ながらどうしてもマイクの手配が間に合わずご迷惑おかけしてしまい、申し訳ありませんでした。）

「広島」が縁でつながり、ここＮＹで出会うって不思議だな、素敵だなと思いながら毎回自己紹介を聞いている私です。

次回はマイク有で、ぜひ全員の自己紹介をして頂きたいと思います。

会の途中では、周りのお客様もびっくりしていたくらい盛り上がった「広島＆ＮＹクイズ大会」！

やはり、イベントで一番大切なのって皆で「同じ時間を共有する事」だと思うので

一つの事を皆で真剣にやるのはおもしろいですね。最近は事務局もクイズ問題提出に慣れてきて

色々とひねったり、聞いた事もないような問題を作って下さいます。個人、個人その人の個性が出るので結構おもしろいです。

優勝チームには広島空港で購入した「カープサブレ」と誰もが喜ぶ「スターバックスギフト券」をプレゼント。

（これも事務局の方々の「愛情」でまかなわれています。今後景品寄付するよ、という心お優しい方がいらしたらぜひ事務局まで

お知らせ下さいませ。）

ばってん会との合同会の時はこのクイズに「九州地方編」も加わったりします。

真剣に楽しんでくれた皆様のおかげで、私達も素敵な時間を過ごす事が出来ました。

本当に有難うございます。

そうそう、会の途中ではＴＶジャパンでアナウンサーをしている広島会の野村さん（ばりばりの広島弁が素敵です）とスタッフの方が会の模様を撮影にいらっしゃいました。

カメラも気にせずクイズで盛り上がっていた私達・・どのように映っているのでしょう。少し気になりますね。
